It's been so long since the last post... due to EOYs... and now it's over! :D
Alright, time for the next puzzle... To be kind to your tortured minds after all that long days of studying I shall make this puzzle easy :)
Oh right! And read the following disclaimer before starting:
After Shawn's previous clock spoiled (one of its minute "lights" wasn't functioning), the one that Uncle Bob bought for $10 000, Aunt Polly bought him a 24-hour alarm clock.
Unfortunately, it has the habit of sounding its alarm whenever the hour value is equal to the minute value (i.e. It rings at 1:01, 2:02, 3:03, 4:04 etc.).
What is the shortest duration between two alarms?

Now for the long-awaited answer to Puzzle 25! In case you have forgotten after so many weeks, drag your mouse over the empty space below to reveal the answer!
1) As Po Chien clearly demonstrated, when you cut 8 into half vertically, you get a 3!
2) Now for the more tricky one... 9 in Roman numerals is IX. So when you cut this into half horizontally, you get IV, which is 4 in Roman numerals! :P

49 min. The clock will ring at 12.12, and the next time will be 1.01.
Are you sure? Read the puzzle again more carefully :)
its a 24 hour clock, so its from 24:24 to 01:01, so the shortest duration will be 37 min? Btw, who is hehe?
correct. but 24:24 does not exist. its 23:23 to 00:00

@sikai, either way, the clock having 24:24 or 00:00 does not matter.
