Puzzle 12
Hi!
Ahh... it's finally the weekend! 4 days of relaxation after a series of tests... one which we truly deserved! Unfortunately I can't go to class outing tommorow, I have something up in the afternoon :(. Have fun tommorow!
Here's the 12th puzzle!
Don't worry, it's not really that hard (maybe). But it might be difficult to guess since it is somewhat leaning towards L.A.
There are 9 questions to solve :O!
First, let's address the most crucial question to this puzzle:
What are rebuses?
Well, a rebus is an arrangement of letters or symbols that is used to indicate a word/phrase. So you can consider it as literal "Language Arts"! Here's an example of a rebus:
TENTI = Centre of attention (literally the centre of the word "at|tenti|on")
If you thought that was hard, don't worry, the following puzzles are (probably) not as hard as the example. Now for the questions... what word/phrase do the following rebuses represent? For easier reading, all letters have been capitalised.
1. UNBREM
2. DAY
3. YGOLOHCYSP
4.
ME
AL
(Please see above post for clarification)
5. BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB
Questions 6-9 are shown in the below diagram.

Good luck trying to figure out the rebuses... you might be needing it!
Now for the answer to Puzzle 11...
1. 23h 59min (Not 12h!)
2. It depends on how deep the hole is.
3. 5 min (You can boil them all at the same time)
4. 3h (Not 9h!)
5. Alysha. Scroll down for the full explanation...
When Charles crossed the finishing line, Alysha was 5m in front of Winnie at that exact time. So, if Winnie was given a 5m head start, at that exact time, when Alysha was 10m away from the finishing line, Alysha and Winnie would be even at that point in time. Since Alysha runs faster, she would complete that remaining 10m faster than Winnie, so Alysha wins!
If you realise that the names look familiar, it's because they are.
:)
