To end it off
Lol. Yep so I shall write a blog post about the class, not going to be politically correct. But I'll just write about people being special to the class in their own ways.
So of course I came from a class similar to this, weird and friendly. I've heard all of you, some were from inactive classes focussed on academics. Well, honestly I've never been in that type of class so I'm thankful 2K is not one of those. Haha, but of course more pressure on the academics with hard working people. Yep so I feel this sense of attachment to everyone as a whole. Can you imagine 2K with one of us not present? Your experiences will be different, be it more sour or sweet. 2K without Sean Ang, no more rude remarks to liven up the atmosphere. I mean, when he insults me (apparently it's only me) I don't take it to heart well, I sense it as a joke and he's just having fun. Yep without it my life will be boring, no one to come into class and call me a noob while I'm reading my things. Haha everyone in this class makes my life different in one way or the other. Contributing to lessons, outside of lessons and of course, as a friend.
I'm not crying now so yeah I won't cry or anything. It's of course a pity we can't move on as a class. It's that sense of achievement when you do something and get things done together. 2K losing the interclass games because we're 2K. If we split and mix with other classes, say our camp groups, one of our teams will win the games but it won't feel like 2K. It just feels like another team you're joining. It's the fun that we're not that great at sports. I take that back. We're great at sports but they're better, yeah? That kind of accomplishment as a class, as a team, can't be attained again.
But of course, you guys shouldn't be sad that we're leaving. You should be glad all of us are moving on together. Well I would be sad if one of us had to stay in Year 2. But we're moving on because everyone has been successful. Be it the notes sharing system or the little consultations we had, I think they all let us work on our studies. Haha I don't know what everyone thinks a class is. For me it's less of the studies but more of learning together. It's just like a group of people having lessons together - you can find that anywhere, even in whatever tuition you enrol in. But a class is more than that. It consists of people who will walk through the 2 years of learning with you. You're not competing against them, you're competing with them. Will you be glad, say, if one of us did extremely badly while the rest passed with flying colours? I believe everyone of us will feel that sense of unhappiness if that were to happen. To think the 2 years we went through together - we want everyone to attain good results right? Yep that's the type of class concept I have.
2K is a special class, even though not the best I had. Well I'm not putting things down but I was in the same class for 3 years with people of similar personality. Oh maybe I'll share something about this. Every year one or two people will leave and join my class. In total, 3 people joined. However, the class spirit we had somehow excluded these 3 people, maybe because we did not interact with them as much. Those who stayed 3 years with me were really my closest friends. Imagine this in 2K? Say someone joined our class after 2 years. We will of course welcome the person like how we welcomed Ms Pam. But can you say it's the same? Looking back at year one, you can't picture Ms Pam there right? The experiences we had would be different already. But Ms Pam came in and we experienced a different kind of environment, what I would classify more conducive and better. When our class was falling apart (undeniably) and she had to take on the role as a form teacher. Well I think a form teacher is really important with my experience in Dunman High School, specifically 1K. Don't you think the little efforts Mr Lim put in like hosting parties and initiating things brought our class together? It gave us the basic opportunities, which we had made good use of. Ms Pam didn't give up on our class like how form teachers usually (generalisation) treat their classes. What is a form teacher to you as well? The person who takes attendance and goes through the PCCG slides? Or someone more special, like an older classmate we look up to and want to include in our activities? I hope it is the latter.
Our class is just unique, and as Po-Chien mentioned, you can't find another like this. Of course you can take this literally, since we won't be in the same class next year. Or you can think further of the class bonds we had. Meeting up in the future, of course not everyone will be present. We start to lose that kind of bond overtime, because it weakens without epic interactions to be etched in our memories. You might have someone in your class next year Glenning (the term Sherlyn uses). Will the laughters brought feel the same as they were in 2K? Haha, I believe not. I always look around at all your reactions - that's what makes me smile.
Maybe some of us don't feel this belonging, I hope flash backs will make this stronger. I think over the past 2 years, many of us have changed. We saw each other through the changes in character and appearance. It's kind of special since no one else will live your 13-14 years of age with you again. It's this special group of people who saw you through this. Remember how Sean Ang used to say retarded so habitually. He's changed now and I think he has become more mature and considerate. Well, I think the people he insulted helped him through this. However you react to his insulting, he changes accordingly and because of how you reacted, he has changed to become as such. I won't say he's much of a good boy now but you would say that he has grown, right?
Well, some of us have not realised but it was the last time we're stepping into the classroom again. We're never going to experience it the same way. Our last Geography lesson of going through essays. Last Mathematics lesson with a Jeopardy game. You can't experience it again so I hope this will stay in your memories.
I think I've been largely incoherent with my random flash backs over this post so now I shall attempt to write out the funny things of everyone in relation to us as a class. The boys are a special part of the class, but the girls, too. It's up to you to recall your interactions with everyone. Actually everything we experience in life only comes once and we only treasure it when we realise it. I'm not going to pull Sherlyn's hair along the canteen corridor again. Not going to look at Tin Wei completing her Chinese paper an hour beforehand. Not going to watch Sean Ng walking into class all dirty and sweaty before throwing his belongings to the back of the class. It's really different when you experience the same thing in a different surrounding, with other people besides 2K.
I only have one last thing (I hope) to say. I hope 2K will not be one of those Kindergarten class with only a few people you bothered to interact with and have lots of fun with. 2K will be a mark in your timeline, something you will think upon when you grow up. Well, this is for those who don't treat a class so warmly. I remember everyone of the classes I've been to because well, I take them as a large group of friends and I enjoy classifying my classes. I can still remember how I used to queue up according to height in Primary 1 and the names of my classmates from the front to the back. How I used to sit in Primary 2 and so on. I think all these memories should be documented and really, take some time off your life to note it down in your long-term memory. Haha, make more use of your left brain! Start remembering significant events in your life, no matter how insignificant. Don't get this? Add a little side note to little experience and your brain kind of remembers these incidents better. And once they're kept in your memory, they'll most probably be there forever. Of course you have to constantly refresh it by looking back.
Oh no I started talking nonsense. So now I just hope everyone will take care and I hope to see everyone as successful people in your fields of interest and aptitude.
I don't think many people will read this so if you do, thank you.
